A few months ago I was solo traveling in Paris and came across an old black and white photograph of two men in a sensual embrace watching the sunset together. It brought feelings of warmth and pride, laced with a bit of sadness at the thought of those two men likely having to hide their true feelings from the world around them

My intention with this painting was to provide a hopeful outlook to queer intimacy. Although the dark, hurt, or fearful parts of us may feel inclined to hide it, it’s a bright and joyful feeling when we can show it unabashedly. This piece serves as a reminder that we are all deserving of the love we long for.
